Please join APT WGLC for a special tour of the Baha'i House of Worship in Wilmette. The Wilmette building is one of eight Baha'i Temples worldwide and the oldest one still standing. It was designed by Louis Bourgeois and the architectural concrete performed by John J. Earley. The corner stone was laid in 1912 and due to world events and construction delays the dedication occurred in 1953.
Starting in the 1990s, several comprehensive concrete repair and restoration projects were completed on the site. Scott Conrad (Baha'i Director of Properties), Bob Armbruster (The Ambruster Company), Bob Joyce (Quality Restorations), and Paul Gaudette (WJE) will be present with other members of the project team to review and discuss the development and implementation of the repairs. The event will include a walking tour to review the repair areas.
Parking is available in the Temple lots and on the street. Attendees will earn 1 AIA CEU (pending approval)
Meet at the Welcome Center southwest of the Temple.
