Please join APT WGLC and the School of the Art Institute Chicago in an opportunity to mentor students enrolled in the Historic Preservation Program. APT WGLC members are sought to work with small groups of students while they perform a condition assessment as part of their class work. Students will be divided into groups focusing on facade, roofing and drainage, and windows and finishes.

This year SAIC will be doing a limited visual condition assessment of the Driehaus Museum (historic Nickerson Mansion) and Murphy Auditorium located at 40 East Erie Street in Chicago, Illinois. The condition assessment event will take place on Tuesday April 9 from 12-4 p.m. The event will start with a brief tour of the property by the docents. There are 8 students in the class and they will be divided into teams of two to be responsible for different aspects of the building envelope. At this point we will have a teams for exterior masonry, roofing, windows, and interiors.

If you are interested in assisting with the condition assessment, sharing your knowledge and having an opportunity to network with the next generation of preservation professionals and attending the students final presentation on Tuesday May 7 at 116 South Michigan Avenue from 1-3 p.m. please register below.

All are welcome! If you have any questions about the program please contact Rachel Will at rwill@wje.com.
